Have a soccer fan in your life and a little bit of scrap yarn? Why not make them a crocheted soccer ball? It's quick and easy and you can almost watch a couple movies while doing so. Sit back, relax with this pattern.
You will need a crochet hook (I used a 3.5MM E Hook), a yarn needle, scissors, white, black and light grey yarn (I used Red Heart) and poly fil to fill the ball.
Rnd = Round
Ch = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
INC = Increase (2 SC in SC)
Hexagon (make 20)
In white Ch 2.
Rnd1: In second CH from the hook 6 SC. [6]
Rnd2: 2 SC(INC) in each SC. [12]
Rnd3: [1 SC, INC]X6. [18]
Rnd4: [2 SC, INC]X6 [24]
Rnd5 [3 SC, 1 SC, CH1, 1SC in same space]X6 [30]
Finish off. Weave in ends.
Pentagon (make 12)
In black Ch 2.
Rnd1: In second CH from the hook 5 SC. [5]
Rnd2: 2 SC(INC) in each SC. [10]
Rnd3: [1 SC, INC]X5. [15]
Rnd4: [2 SC, INC]X5 [20]
Rnd5 [3 SC, 1 SC, CH1, 1SC in same space]X5 [25]
Finish off. Weave in ends.
Now it is time to relax and sew this together with the light grey color. I used whip stitch but you can use any stitch you like.
